On a cold winter evening, or any evening, these baked apples are absolutely delicious. Plus, while they're cooking, the house smells amazing.

Ingredients

  • 6 Renata apples
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 6-7 walnuts
  • 1/2 tsp coarse salt
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder

Instructions

  • 1)

Remove the stall then with a knife make two small cross 2cm incision on the spot of the stalk.

  • 2)

Place the apples on a glass tray in the oven at 200°c

  • 3)

Sprinkle some salt on the cuts; this will allow the salt to sip through the apple core as it cooks.

  • 4)

Sprinkle some cinnamon powder over the cross-cut as well and baked it in the oven for thirty to forty minutes or so.

  • 5)

Once you smell the fragrance of cooked apples, it’s a sign that it’s almost ready.

  • 6)

Look through the glass of the oven, to check the juice is flowing out of the apples.

  • 7)

Once the skin has broken and juice oozing out, and you can see inside the apple flesh, you can remove the apples from the oven.

  • 8)

Place each apple on a dessert plate and garnish with roasted oats or fruits and coconut cream or maple syrup or anything you fancy as a topping. Enjoy!

Notes

There is an effortless dessert for groups of friends and a healthy snack for kids. It has a spectacular sweet, sour, and zingy taste of ginger with touch cinnamon.
