Siddhasana, also called the Perfect or Accomplished pose, is a yoga position for beginners. The name of the pose is derived from two samkrta words: ‘Siddha’, which means perfect or accomplished, and ‘Asana’, which means pose. This pose is perfect for meditation and may help reduce stress and anxiety levels.

How to Execute Siddhasana:

  1. Start by sitting on the floor with your legs straight in front of your body.
  2. Bend the left leg inward and place the left heel toward the muladhara chakra (the base of your perineum, or on the base of your spine).
  3. Place your right heel directly on top of your left, pressing onto the svadhisthana chakra (the sex organ’s root).
  4. Between the left thigh and calf muscles, press the toes and edge of the right foot.
  5. At this point, make sure that your position is relaxed and comfortable, with your spine fully aligned.
  6. Place both hands on your knees, palms facing upward with your chin looking straight.
  7. You can remain in this position for as long as you wish.
Practice: Perfect Pose (Siddhasana) Sustain for period of meditation practice.
